NeuroSpa was created by a physician to relieve your chronic pain once and for all...

As a practicing neurologist, many of the patients I care for have chronic pain. Traditional therapies like standard massage rarely relieve their pain long-term. I discovered that my patients had a great response to neuromuscular techniques and other manual therapies coupled with strengthening programs! Through NeuroSpa, I've expanded these effective therapies beyond my own practice.

As a practicing Neurologist, I've cared for those who present with chronic pain that can be generalized or localized to specific areas.  As a neuromuscular therapist, I work with individuals to formulate a plan for pain relief. First we identify painful areas and determine body postures and joint positions that worsen the pain. I devise a neuromuscular rehabilitation program to relieve painful trigger points, associated tight muscles and inflexible joints, demonstrate appropriate flexibility exercises and self-massage techniques.

Massage therapy is an extension of a rehabilitation program. Physical or chiropractic therapy plans provide moderate relief for some patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, and those suffering from chronic neurological conditions.  These patients often require 2-3 months of care, but in this age of limited insurance benefits, financial restrictions can reduce access to these therapies, leaving patients with inadequate recovery and continued pain or disability. Massage complements many physical therapy plans, and can speed recovery of range-of-motion and promote pain relief.

Neuromuscular therapies include massage, range of motion, postural alignment, trigger point release techniques, traction and electrical stimulation.  For those with chronic neck and back pain, certain headaches, jaw pain, achy feet and limb pain, neuromuscular therapy coupled with a home program of flexibility and strengthening exercises may offer the greatest relief of pain over time.

NeuroSpa offers traditional massages for general relaxation, pain and stress reduction. We also provide neuromuscular techniques and therapies to address chronic conditions for additional muscle relaxation, recovery and pain relief.   Our approach is client interactive.  You have to participate with the therapist to recognize and approach nagging painful areas, constricted muscles and tendons, and ultimately to improve range of motion. Exercises to maintain range of motion and flexibility are demonstrated and provided.
